“I cannot recommend Career.Palce training highly enough...”

"As a Talent Acquisition (TA) professional, I found the Career.Place workshop and training to be incredibly in-depth and practical, providing valuable insights and strategies that have been truly transformational for our team.

Their expertise is undeniable and is evident in the way they present information clearly and concisely that is relevant to the work we do in TA. They are able to provide a wealth of information on best practices and effective strategies for TA and their advice is grounded in practical experience, making it easy for us to apply it to our work.

The transformational impact of their training on our team has been remarkable. We are already implementing many of the strategies they have shared with us. The training has helped us to become more efficient, effective, and strategic in our approach to DEIB within the TA space, which has led to higher levels of success in finding and hiring top talent.

Overall, I cannot recommend the Career.Place workshop and training highly enough. If you're a TA professional looking to improve your DEIB processes and outcomes, and be more effective in conversations with hiring leaders across your organization, this training is a must. Their in-depth knowledge, practical advice, and transformative impact make it an invaluable resource for any TA team.

“The training was really engaging and was very helpful...”

Kaizen.jpg.png

"In an effort to ensure that our recruiting process is equitable, we launched an initiative to weed out biases in our interview questions. I was thrilled to learn that career.place offered inclusive interview training.

The
training was really engaging and was very helpful in showing us the types of questions that we should be asking to be able to identify the right candidates for our positions. We were even able to review some of our typical interview questions during the training and found multiple opportunities to improve our candidate experience and insight through rephrasing.

Thanks to the career.place training, we are able to get the most out of our interview questions and the interview process."

“I highly recommend all TA leaders take career.place courses”

"I've been lucky enough to take two separate courses with career.place: one on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and one on Metrics, both specific to the Talent Acquisition space.

Melissa is a fantastic facilitator of the sessions: for the DE&I series, she was teaching a large swath of folks across industries, levels, and companies, and was able to make content that was applicable and actionable for us all, with a heavy dose of realism as to how we could right size these strategies for implementation.

For the Metrics course, Melissa worked with a group of individuals of all technical areas across my company and was able to take her content and tailor to us through what she learned about our organization and our own expertise (or in my case, lack thereof!) with data.

I would highly recommend any and all Talent Acquisition leaders or folks leading this ara to take courses through career.place -  I know I will again!"

“Career.Place has been transformational to our TA team”

"Career.Place has been an outstanding partner to Booster. Melissa has a knack for sharing DEIB information in such a practical and engaging way. It makes principles, that may have been challenging to grasp at one point, easy to understand

We started with an in-person session where Melissa gave an overview of why DEIB is so paramount to Talent Acquisition. After that session, our entire team was pleading for more, so we signed up for the 12-Session training. And it has changed how we approach conversations with hiring managers, job postings, and candidate screening.

Career.Place has been transformational to our Talent Acquisition team and our overall goal of increasing our capability!"

She and career.place's dedication towards equity from developing hiring software to eliminate bias to sharing knowledge through thought-provoking presentation and interactive discussion activities is palpable. I highly recommend career.place for any company seeking to create equitable workspaces through intention. ”

"Definitely worth the investment"

“This being my first DEI course run externally, it’s easy to get overwhelmed at the volume of what you’re likely to cover, but the team has made it incredibly easy to digest. The content is organized chronologically and there are worksheets and blogs each month on the relevant topic at hand to keep us in line and on track. The delivery and involvement from all parties is supportive and also encourages involvement, daunting at first but after a while it seems weird to not speak up. Everything about the course has been advantageous and we’ve been able to take some of the learnings to add impact within the broader business. Definitely worth the investment and from an individual perspective it’s been a great addition to my own skillset and knowledge. ”

“At first, I was not sure what to expect. My role as the Diversity, Campus, & Military Recruitment Program Manager was a newly created role at Terminix, a Fortune 500 Company, and I was tasked with building a lot of these initiatives from scratch.

But, from the first meeting with Melissa Dobbins, I knew this program would be the exact thing I needed to guide and help me build a framework for my efforts. Throughout the 12-month program, we have been deep diving into topics ranging from setting our DEI goals and initiatives, to candidate sourcing, candidate experience, and job descriptions and requirements.

In addition to getting great instructor led courses, one of the most beneficial aspects of the program is the interaction we've had with our cohorts. By sharing insights and experiences with other TA professionals, I've heard first-hand about their progress and past efforts which has influenced a lot of the work I've done since starting the program and made it more impactful and effective.
I would strongly recommend this program to anyone regardless of where their company is in the process of building out a DEI COE. The tools and resources provided can be beneficial now, next year, and even further in the future and I know I'll be referencing my training materials for years to come.”

"Amazing job organizing and presenting information"

“I have spent about 20 years in Talent Acquisition and it has been exciting watching DEI move to the forefront and go beyond basic awareness to a much more intentional focus of corporate strategy.  In all my time spent in TA, I’ve done research, gone to webinars, read blogs and just generally aimed to be a good human, so I jumped at the chance to participate in ATAP’s DEI Program.  I’m lucky to be a part of a global organization that recognizes the value and strength that an intentional DEI program offers, and am grateful that MoneyGram has supported me in taking the time to participate in this.

I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect going in, but ATAP has done an
amazing job of organizing and presenting all of the information necessary to build a DEI Strategy from scratch, or enhance an existing strategy.  This DEI program has allowed me to expand my knowledge and connect with others on a similar journey to share ideas and experiences.  The way the information is presented and the level of interaction is what sets this apart from other programs.  What I thought I knew has been challenged and supplemented, and I feel more prepared to refine my approach and my ideas to be a better DEI partner going forward.  No matter where you are in your journey, I would highly recommend this program. ”

"Dives into key actions to make a large strategy happen"

Artera Logo + Tagline - Secondary Full Color.png

“Besides being incredibly personable and a natural teacher, Melissa Dobbins is extremely passionate about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The best aspects of this cohort were the learnings around putting together a large strategy or roadmap as well as diving into the key action steps to make it happen.  The tools and resources provided are given to you to use as needed and I can see myself using the presentations and templates in a variety of cases.  The team building component was critical.  Being part of this team has provided me with new relationships that I can consistently go to for thought partnership, best practice sharing, and professional networking.  I have leaned on this team more times than I can count.  Thank you to ATAP for this partnership and opportunity! ”

"We were able to start building incremental change. "

This was such a great experience!

Having everything spread out over a year really helped to be able to not only reflect and discuss, and progressively build rather than doing a shorter, intensive course, but also to
start being able to build incremental change. I loved having our small groups; it made it easier to put the work into action, and I'm excited to see how we can do even more at my organization in the years to come.

"Rewarding experience, personally and professionally. "

Being part of the ATAP DEI Cohort has been an extremely rewarding experience for me, personally and professionally. To be honest, when I first viewed the agenda and time commitment, I was overwhelmed and unsure how I would work this into my schedule for one year. However, as we entered the first two sessions, my mind was put to ease.

The sessions are bite sized, so you can digest it month by month. Melissa Dobbins is a great teacher and resource for the sessions. But by far, the best part for me were the break-out groups. The smaller groups enabled us to better connect on the tasks at hand, and we had many laughs together. We have even talked about keeping in touch and having meetings to collaborate, discuss issues, and network solutions.

I have definitely grown through this experience, not only in my career, but in my personal life, shaping and growing through these sessions and insights from all who went through this journey with me.

"Course... translated into actionable process updates. "

Our team thoroughly enjoyed the ATAP DEI Center of Exellence course!

This course provided us with recommendations and tools that we were able to
translate into actionable process updates. One of the most beneficial elements of this course design were the Cohort breakout groups. These breakouts allowed us to build relationships, network and collaborate with a network of TA professionals on the same journey as us, working towards meaningful change within DEI.

We believe the changes we've implemented will attract a wider funnel of diverse talent and instill a more inclusive process.

'... actionable steps to overcome or Mitigate DEI pitfalls. '

Thank you, Kristen LeBlanc and the ATAP team for the coordination work in delivering such an impactful 12-month program.

The communication was clear, timely, and consistent. I also want to thank Melissa Dobbins for the thoughtful content she delivered. I really appreciate how she broke down
each piece of the recruiting process and shared where the pitfalls were and then supplied actionable steps to overcome or mitigate them.

Although I’m not responsible for the recruiting process at my organization, I work closely with our talent acquisition leader and felt confident in sharing what I learned and experienced during my sessions. The program really highlighted how positive DEI outcomes rely on each person at every level of the org.
