Tip of the week: Prepare a pre-interview message

Reason: Once candidates are screened and selected as finalists for a position, there are a lot of details that often come with the interview process. Information includes everything from the steps of the interview process, to the location of the onsite interview(s), to policies for long-distance travel, where to park, organization benefits, documentation for background checks, etc. Prepare a communication plan to ensure no candidate is at a disadvantage by not getting important information, especially those with less experience interviewing who don’t know what questions to ask. Put the information in an email, on a webpage, on a social media site, or any other appropriate venue. The important thing is communication and accessibility for all candidates.
